CNNSI NFL Stadium Rankings

Not too many surprises on this list. Lambeau is, of course, number one. The AFC North makes a strong showing with the Steelers 2nd, Browns 3rd, Ravens 5th, and Bengals 19th.

Most amusing to me is that the Redskins mega-stadium, FedEx Field, languishes at 28th. In fact, the stadium is below the Meadowlands, the Superdome, and the Edward Jones dome.

FedEx's low rating probably has everything to do with exorbitant ticket prices and parking prices and concession prices... and it's in an abysmal location. I hate Danny. Jack Kent Cooke looks like a saint by comparison.

This quote is priceless from the linked article: 'When fans are left with the impression the owner "would charge you for the oxygen you breathe during a game if only he could regulate it," that "going to a Redskins game is as much fun as a dentist appointment" and that "unless there is a master plan to bring the team back to the friendly confines of RFK, you're better off just catching the game on television."'

You all know I'm a huge 'Skins fan, but there's a reason I've turned down 'Skins season tickets three consecutive seasons now, and a reason why I've been offered season tickets each year despite re-entering my name at the "bottom of the waiting list" each year that I turned tickets down. Ravens fans don't know how good they have it with the stadium, the bars and life surrounding the stadium (Pickles/Fed Hill), the ease of access to the stadium, and the beauty of the stadium itself. I hope The Danny follows through on his ultimate goal of demolishing RFK and building a new football stadium on the same site.

Russell, you can't blame the location on Danny! He inherited it from Cooke (or robbed it from those who inherited it).

I know I can't blame Landover on Danny. That just compounds how frustrating it is to pay that much. And don't wander off away from the tailgating lots. I grew up in PG County, and I know what looms just out of sight, or in sight depending on which route you take.

It's just sad that he can take the life out of a stadium that's sold out every game. RFK was a very different experience.

Ravens fans know how good we have it. For all the incompetence in city politics, they know stadiums and downtown renewal.

Great article...I am not going to get antyhing done today. I find it interesting that how good the team is THIS YEAR plays an impact in stadium ratings. Like I thought Dolphins Stadium was a great place to watch a game, with the only drawback being that there are no bars/restaurants near it. But servicing such a wide grographical fan base (south Florida being spread only north-south, and not east-west, and Miami being on the far south end of the area makes it doubly difficult), the location is as central to everyone down there as it can get. But sure enough, the team sucking dropped them way down. If they took out the team rating, and considered the fan base, it would be in the top 10. very interesting though...same reasons though that the new Cardinals state of the art everything facility is so low.

So the Redskins should be ranked even lower then, since they have an inflated record thanks to OT thrillers against the 1-win Jets and 0-win Dolphins?

Are you implying that the Skins' wins over the Dolphins (0-8), Eagles (3-5), Lions (6-2), Cards (3-5), and Jets (1-8) are less impressive than the Ravens' victories over the Jets (1-8), Cards (3-5), 49ers (2-6), and Rams (0-8)? Baltimore's vanquished opponents are a combined 6-27, and their 4 losses are to teams a combined 17-15. The Skins' opponents in wins are 13-28, and the losses are to a combined record of 22-3. So who has the inflated record?

No, I think he is implying that FedEx Field is total garbage, and combine that with the garbage that is the Redskins, you get the worst stadium in the NFL.

The Ravens, while a crappy football team, have a nice stadium.

Ok, looking at the rankings, the Skins are definitely not a 7 out of 10 team to watch. Neither side of the ball is particularly entertaining to watch, but even a 3 out of 10 would only move us down one spot.

And I think the Ravens don't deserve a 5. The defense used to be fun to watch, but even Ray-Ray and the gang aren't that good this year.

Ray-Ray is fun to watch in the locker room this year.

I mean...you know what I mean. I don't like Ray-Ray that way. Only Tom Brady.
